Mythical Championship Breakdown

5 Teams have locked down their spots in the Mythical NCAA D1 Football Championship Bracket by winning their Conference Championship Game, Auburn (2), Oklahoma (9), Virginia Tech (15), UCF (27) and Miami Ohio (47). This leaves 3 openings in the 8-team bracket to be determined by the At-Large Championship Games. The remaining 6 Non-Championship Conference Champions will go head to head to determine who is worthy of the final spots. Oregon (1) will take on Troy (62), TCU (3) will match up with Connecticut (37) and Wisconsin (8) draws Nevada (12).

For posterity sake, let's imagine those games have already happened and that the top seeds won. Or someone can break out their EA Sports NCAA Football 11 and play those games out for me. But let's stick with the former. The 8-team Mythical Bracket would align as follows and would be played in the next week or two on campus of the higher seed.

Oregon (1) vs Miami Ohio (47)
Auburn (2) vs UCF (27)
TCU (3) vs Virginia Tech (15)
Wisconsin (8) vs Oklahoma (9)

From here, the 4 winners will be reseeded, hi to low, and play on New Year's Day in Semi Final action. The winners of the Semi Finals will square off a week later to determine a true National Champion. These three games will be played at neutral sites worthy of champions. Ah, if only this were true it would capture the hearts of all.
